corporate wear on steriods

i wanted to dress up for work as i had quite a few meetings for the day - i wanted to look sophisticated and chic, anything other than 'corporate'...boringggg. this is the outfit i chose; black and white striped blazer, eiffel tower tank, pink lace pencil skirt with gold exposed zipper (always a must with the detilas!), black hosiery, and rocker-chic ankle booties; a great look for the office, yet a little quirky and outside the box because of the under-shirt choice.

i absolutely love this skirt; it is so versatile and can be dressed up for an event or completely dressed down for any other occasion - dinner with friends, a day in the park with a plain v-neck, etc.it is from the new stock at h&m and is organic - it was $14.95 and one of my best buys lately!

the striped blazer i have had for a couple years now. i bought it in cali and have coveted it ever since - you can easily wear it with a pair of ripped, baggy boyfriend jeans to crisp up an outfit or wear it with cigarette pants and a bow blouse for the office, orrrr avec la skirt as seen below.

BLAZER / h&m; TANK / unknown; SKIRT / h&m organic collection; TIGHTS / secret; BOOTIES / aldo; NECKLACES / bow tie - thrifted, f21; BRACELETS / vintage, juicy couture, h&m; WATCH / michael kors; RINGS / peoples, vintage; SUNNIES / d&g; BROOCH / vintage

my tank i chose has a picture of the eiffel tower on it and inscribed 'je'taime paris'. this could not be anymore of a true statement for me. if you've ever seen the inside of our house, you'd know that i have an immense love for paris - i just love the parisian people, the architecture, the history, the croissants, the fashion (probably would be the number one reason i love that city), the cigarettes (only in paris), EVERYTHING! everything about paris makes me go 'Ouuu'! i wanted something different than a boring basic tea or a  button down blouse to wear with this outfit and i felt this tank took it one step up. do you agree?

lastly, as i always say, one of the best ways to personalize an outfit is with jewels; kitschy jewelery will help to take your outfit to the next level; try a cool, statement necklace, oodles of arm candy, a large cocktail ring or if you're like me, pile em all on!

happy thursday everyone! :)
