polka dots, mustard & leopard, oh my!

first and foremost...HAPPY FRIDAY! can we say TGIF!? friday is absolutely one of my most favorite days - can you tell i work full time? haha

so this is my first attempt at my outfit posts, i'm not very comfortable in front of the camera just yet so please bare with me...

currently our balcony has been the setting of my outfit documentation, however, with the summer coming and the city a playground, stay tuned for some updated, much prettier photo backgrounds!

i absolutely love an outfit such as this: a chiffon blouse, funky coloured cigarette pants, ballet flats, and of course my signature jewels. this is what my work uniform usually consists of and it can easily go from a long day at the office and in meetings to meeting with friends for a couple drinks after the office with a few tweaks - change the flats to a rockin' pair of stilettos or cage heels, swap the glasses for contacts, amp up the necklaces, arm party and rings and you're gold!

i toned down my 'corporate outfit' with a worn-in jean jacket that i've had for years and years and will never lose possession of; it fits me perfectly, is graffiti'd with flecks of gold paint, which i LOVE and is one of my wardrobe essentials for spring/summer/fall seasons. 

all in all, this is one of my favorite outfits for a day spent at the office or to grab a quick drink with my boyfriend and/or friends after work. cigarette pants pretty much work with any body type - the only thing is, you must make sure you have the right size or else that's when the look can get a little complicated. a few other ways you can wear a pair of funky-coloured cigarette pants is to tuck a black v-neck in, accessorize with a belt and statement piece necklace, maybe even pull on a smart blazer or even just throw a chunky-knit sweater over a button down; either way your cigarette pants will have you looking city-girlesque in no time!
