so...i am back to show you the vintage gems i called mine sunday afternoon after spending a few laid-back hours perusing our local vintage and consignment shops with my girlfriend, sans doggies for once.
i have been looking and LOOKINGGG for quite some time now for some leather shorts; turning up to be too short, too tight or not real leather in all retail stores i knew i had two choices - 1. learn how to sew OR 2. shop, shop, shop! as always, i chose the latter.
my search finally came to an end this past weekend...& taaaa daaaaa:
i'm so enthused over these real leather motorcycle shorts - these are going to be a major staple in my closet. i see them looking fabulous over a pair of black opaque tights and a comfy oversized sweater and booties or bare legs, a sexy backless top and oxfords. these can be worn day or night in so many ways, i get excited just thinking of the outfit possibilities!
& the leather shorts were not the only triumph i had. i also found a peach-coloured, slinky crop top which totally brings me back to Calvin Klein in the 90s:
i can't wait to wear this beauty with black skinnies and a rockin' pair of heels for a girl's night out or a pair of large-flared bell bottoms, a statement piece necklace and hippy cool hair for day wear.
i think that vintage and thrift shopping is always the way to go - you find drool-worthy one-of-a-kind pieces and don't have to spend too pretty of a penny on them. the shorts i paid $34.99 (which is probably what i would have ended up paying in a retail store for too-tight, non fitting and non-leather shorts) and the ahhh-mazing slinky crop top was $16.99, which is still a pretty good price in my eyes; especially for a cool color such as this!
what do you guys think of my finds?
