hi all! i hope everyone had a fabulous weekend - to those of you in Canada who helped to celebrate Canada's birthday, I hope you had a fabulous longgggg weekend!

this is a very easy outfit to re-do - all you need is some cute cut-off shorts (I made mine myself from a vintage pair of wrangler jeans), a flowy top with a secret back focal point, ankle boots, hippy-cool hair and loads of arm candy!

i absolutely adore this blouse - i love how simple and nautical it is from the front (hence my anchor necklace) but it is a real treat from the back. I'm always a fan of a showing bra a la carrie bradshaw so i made a point to have a coloured bra on.

this was a perfect outfit for a night with the girls!

dressed up maxi

first off, i'd like to say HAPPY FRIDAY! woo hoo, best day of the week by far...well, other than saturday of course!

this past weekend was one of my closest friends', Julia's bridal shower and the following is what i wore.

i wanted to be very feminine (hence the florals) but still very comfortable and classic (hence the maxi dress and blazer).

my blazer was thrifted at value village - it fit in the arms, shoulders and length, hwoever, it was quite boxy for my frame - low and behold a beautiful brooch to tighten it up in the back and voila!

my kinda comfortable

hi all and happy monday!

this past weekend was spent up north at my parents' house - i am definitely a city girl at heart but feel equally comfortable in the country too.

i love summer dressing and feel it should always be easy and comfortable - my go to outfit is a fabulous pair of jean shorts, a woven top or tank and comfy shoes.

these shorts are a vintage pair of Ralph Lauren jeans that i picked up at a thrift store for $6.99. i took scissors to them and voila, my new perfect pair of jean shorts!

floral makes the world go 'round

hi all, sorry for my most recent hiatus, i've been utterly busy with work which has been allowing little time for play.

my dressing lately has been sophisticated for work but still with the ease of movement making it much easier to stand this heat wave we have been encountering.

nothing makes a girl feel girly more than flowers - this is one of my fav maxis to throw on for running errands around town, a day at the beach or a nice dinner out paired with a cropped biker jacket and some heels.

rainy days

hi all and happy monday...if there is such thing...

this past weekend/week/and upcoming week has nothing scheduled but rain, rain and more rain. joy!

dressing for rainy weather can be tricky - with spring/summer in the air all i want to do is wear flowy maxi dresses, sun dresses, skirts and bright attire. this couldn't be more wrong for rainy weather.

this is usually my go-to outfit for rainy weather - a comfy cozy sweater, skinnies and a good pair of flats if i choose to forgo my hunters.

this is a very 'me' outfit; very lax and low-key with an abundance of arm candy and textures. this shirt is 100% silk and looks equally cute tucked into a pair of high-waist cigarette pants or pencil skirt as it does left open and breezy over a tank and boyfriend jeans.

nautical and leather

i am a sucker for anything striped and nautical so when i saw this shift dress for $11 at forever 21 i jumped on it - i probably would have bought it in any color if i saw them!

so remember when i said that 'wearing vintage shoes is not my cup of tea'? k well i totally retract that statement - i found these lovely booties at a goodwill up north and i couldn't set them down; they were the perfect size, real leather, and exactly what i've been looking for - not to mention the price was even better!!!

i wanted to toughen up the dress so i did so through black hosiery and combat boots; of course i had oodles and caboodles of jewels on.

how beautiful is this view??

tweed, neon and boyfriend jeans

this is one of my favourite outfits to wear - a ladylike cropped blazer, a simple white tee and my handy dandy boyfriend jeans!

this outfit is definitely one of my go-to outfits for spring/summer/fall. i wear these jeans with absolutely EVERYTHING but this is one of the nicest outfits - business up top, casual on the bottom.

i'm loving snakeskin prints, as i always have, so the added punch of texture with the pumps to this outfit is just what i needed; the snakeskin print also matches the tweed jacket oh so perfectly so it kind of pulls everything together nicely. this white tee you see is so versatile - it is 100% silk on the front and cotton on the back - i like to wear it reversed sometimes too - it is key to have a shirt like this in your wardrobe.
